The main reason that I bought 3 single TCredits earlier today to upgrade from EA to EA2 was so that I could answer this question. I think I saw that voting on it ends at the end of the day today, and I wanted to have my say before then.

My answer is different from many of the answers I've seen for this question.

I am of the opinion that a good financial budget to start with for SFI is zero.

It's what I did. I started with no money.

I wanted to purchase the New Member Pack within my first ten days at SFI, but I couldn't afford to. I was disappointed that I couldn't afford it, at first. Now I'm glad. I also still managed to become an EA in my first ten days at SFI without spending any money.

Most of the advertising for SFI tells people that there are no purchase requirements, ever. While this is true, it's also very difficult for many people to quickly grasp how to advance with SFI without spending any money - money that many people don't have.

I feel that there are very many people who join SFI who cannot afford to purchase anything, even things that cost less than $10 or $20. They came to make money; not spend money. Then they discover that there's work involved in order to advance with SFI. This chases some people away.

The discovery that there's work involved also makes determined souls attempt to try advance anyway - but in many places on SFI, and mentioned by many people on SFI, is talk of purchasing things to help one advance with SFI. To help prevent this discouraging those who are trying so hard to advance with SFI, and to make money with SFI, they need to see more people speaking about how to advance with SFI, and how to make money with SFI, without spending any money themselves.

I feel that those who are able to advance with SFI without spending any money themselves are in a better position to support and teach the determined souls in their team how to do the same.

Many who spend money to help advance themselves in SFI may fully understand how to do it without spending money too, but who better to teach those who can't spend money than those who aren't spending money themselves - who are actually experiencing it?

It may seem ironic, then, that I spent some money today in order to be able to answer this question, but I do feel it is money well spent. I didn't want time to run out. If I'd had more time I could have gotten to this same point by spending much more time on free methods of marketing.

Everyone wants to know how much money do I need to invest to make a certain amount of money. Of course the answer to that question is it depends on how much you want to make and how much time you are willing to put in to achieve your goals. There is never a purchase requirement here. You decide what you can afford and stick with that every single month without fail. If you can't invest money, then be prepared to spend a lot of time on free ads every single day for at least 6 hours a day. Then when you gain a bit of traction reinvest your profits into your advertising so that your can leverage your growth.

Nonetheless, if you have $100 to invest every month then I would highly recommend it. The key to your success here at SFI is going to be growth, sales, and team leadership support. Given the rate of activity for PSAs, I'd invest $80 to create sales and $20 to recruit PSAs. You will always get 100% of your own activity. Network sales are based on the activity of your network and you get 45% of the CV. The more you can invest in sales the better as long as you are getting a good return on your money.

I will share my own experience again, because this is what I know about my financial budget. Of course is personal choice for people what will they do or do not with their money depending of their own expenses.
In my first years I didn't have even a SO, because my budget was tight or may be I didn't calculate my expenses. Whatever. On my first two months I invested without SO around $50. I earned commission in August 2011 and I re-invested it. Starting then I re-invest every month my commission that varied between $20-$50 every month to be EA2. On January 2012 I lost active people and my commission dropped down. I still had commission that I re-invested and I didn't bid on auctions to save my T-credits and MRP for purchasing something that made me EA2.
In 2014 my commission was really bad - around $15 and I re-invested it all in purchasing every single day one T-credit for 126 MRP, because I had a lot MRP. Also in this year I had a new Co-sponsor. A great lady that sent me Gift certificates to remain my EA2 sometimes, but I began to invest my commission and more money /around $15/ to remain Ea2. This year I am in better financial situation at the moment and the budget I invest + my commission every month is around $100. So there are few options you have for a budget:
1. SO for 1200 VP /100 T-credits/ for $29 and with AVP from daily, weekly and monthly actions you become EA2';
2. SO for 1500 VP /125 T-credits/ for $36.28 you are EA2 with it and with other actions and sales you can become BTL if you have active team
3. SO for 1780 VP /125 T-credits + 1 unit S-co-builder) for $58.25 - you are EA 2 and or can pay more $40 for t-credits that transform into AVP to become BTL.
4. No SO and no money for investment - you have a lot of working time,but with Sales you can become EA2 if you promote every day products from Tripleclics that can earn you commissions or if you're seller on your own stuff. Also you can play games for free to earn entrance to DC and by doing daily actions you should participate in DG. This way you can win some prizes that can make you EA2.
So the good budget depends of what you want to become - EA2, BTL or great seller.

If you are diligent and work hard, you probably need a smaller budget, and if you are lazy
You will require a larger budget.
In general, in the first month you need a $ 20 NMP (new member pack), and possibly $ 10 for paid advertising.
In the second month, a minimum of $ 10 for advertising, and $ 5-10 for buying tcredits for ostvrenje status, if necessary.
