In any human endeavor you cannot do more than your best, so there is very limited assistance you can render to affiliates with limited Internet access. Internet limited access varies, e.g., having none at home or not enough network bandwidth to function properly. However, I will attempt to give a general overview of the type of help you may render below:

1. Use other conventional methods like telephone to communicate important and helpful information to them.

2. Limited access is still better than no access, so encourage them to do as much work as possible whenever they have access.

3. Guide them to certain actions they can perform like face-to-face prospecting for PSAs, ECAs and PRMs, since they have limited Internet access. They may need to always have some ECA brochures, x-cards, gift cards, etc. with them when on the move.

4. Organize physical meetings where possible and go with your laptop so that you can virtually demonstrate and guide them on what to do.

5. Encourage those who can afford it to set up a standing order in order to maintain their respective ranks, but please do not push hard on this.

7. You may help them by assisting and guiding their downlines by not letting up on your Gen 2 and beyond.

8. Encourage then to switch ON the Vacation Mode if they are not sure of access the next day in order to maintain their Day VP Streak where applicable.

9. You can help them by placing their urls on advertising spots and including them in your co-op in order to build their downlines.

No matter the help you render, you cannot do their work for them, so you need to encourage them to take action to revive their Internet connection.

When you find out that your down-line teammate has limited access to using a computer there are a couple things you can do as their sponsor that could help them.

I would only recommend doing this with a “worker” and that is to copy and paste important information into a word document, print it out and mail it to their home address. If it needs to be translated then you have to do that for them before you print and send it. I have done this in the past with good results. (See note below)

As a gift you can send them copies of fliers already made out with their ID number so they can get copies made at a printing place.

Remind them of Internet café and public libraries where computer use is available. They can also use smart phones and I-pads.

If your teammate is serious she/he will find a way to get on line enough to keep their affiliate-ship with SFI and TripleClicks active while they are doing whatever they can to obtain better time use with a computer.

Don’t forget to inform you teammate that whenever they are using a different device they will have to verify their device with SFI by having to send in a code that SFI will send them for using the new device. Make sure you copy the instructions and send them to their email address.

NOTE: One of the reasons I suggested sending information to their home address is that come Internet cafe do not allow them to print and copy work off the computer without paying more for it. And some Libraries do not have printers set up to use.

Your affiliate will have to plan out the Internet time very carefully so to get the maximum benefits in the shortest amount of time. Many affiliates have had to start this same way and if they have been able to achieve this then others can also.

It will take longer to build their business with limited access to the Internet but it can be done so encourage them a lot and help as much as you can. Encourage them to sponsor people and sell TripleClicks products as soon as they can and reinvest earned income into purchasing a computer.

I think the important thing to remember is that you don't really need a computer. What you need is an internet connection. I hardly use my computer except to type something (like I'm typing the answer to this Ask SC question).

I spend all my time on my smartphone (like kids do these days) but mostly it is to collect my daily VPs and advertising. I even send my welcome letter using my Smartphone although I ensure that I keep a copy of the letter somewhere and just need to copy it and send it off. I understand that typing with a smartphone is not user friendly.

I do not have my own computer. The computer I do have is at the office (which is not mine, that is company's property). But during lunch time I do the Weekly Teammails, my follow up emails, my e-cards, etc.

My point is, teach your affiliate the options available. If it is the library, then so be it. If your affiliate is online and was able to click on your add and register, then he must have an internet connection and access to it somehow. He just needs guidance on how to optimise his time online.

Dear Jose,

Having a limited access to a computer is different from having inaccessibility to it at all. I assume that limited access to the computer is due to not owning/having the computer as an ownership but still a person can access it once in a while by borrowing from someone else or by going to places providing public use of computers and internet service, such as internet cafes and libraries.

For a time being, tell your affiliates to not take this as an excuse not to succeed. Do not waste time worrying about this matter but take a full advantage of their moments when they once in a while have a ‘chance’ to get connected. Ask them to finish up daily, weekly and intermediate actions.

Browse through some tools and training materials, download them all and get these info printed out so that when they are offline they can study the SFI materials. The ongoing process of learning should not be halted for that reason. Get suitable advertising materials from their SFI gateways and make them as printouts. They have to do more offline advertising in building their businesses.

Then you should survey your affiliates’ background, especially their finances and geographical locations. Usually a main reason for people not having a computer is a lack of money. Buying the modest computer at least requires around 200-250 USD in my country, and getting an internet connection service requires at least around 20 USD per month. For affiliates who have a limited amount of money, that is the best choice if they really want to be serious in SFI business.

Advice your affiliates to cut off any unnecessary expenses and try to save a few dollars a day. For example, save 4USD per day, and within 2 months, the affiliates can purchase the computer plus subscribing to the internet connection.
Sooner or later I think owning the computer with the internet access is a MUST to get daily access to SFI info and training materials, and also to be able to perform daily, weekly and monthly tasks without failure.

If they are lucky they might encounter some shops offering an installment or easy payment scheme for purchasing an electronic device.

Besides that, ask them to participate in Pricebenders Auction and focus on bidding on computer and smart phone items. If they are fortunate enough, they will win the bidding and that will be a great achievement for them.

One of the advantages of SFI business is that you can run it in the way that best suites you, as long as you don't violate the provisions of the Affiliate Agreement. This means that you can do most or all of your marketing offline, or in other words, using the traditional marketing methods. These methods are sorted into 4 categories:

1. PRINT: Includes advertisements in newspapers, newsletters, magazines, brochures, classifieds, and other printed material for distribution.

2. BROADCAST: Includes radio and television commercials, as well as specialized forms like on-screen movie theater advertising. In this particular case, a short commercial on a local radio station would be most convenient and affordable.

3. DIRECT MAIL: Includes fliers, postcards, brochures, letters, catalogs, and other material that is printed and mailed directly to prospects.

4. TELEMARKETING: Includes requested calling and cold calling of prospects over the phone.

Other than these traditional marketing methods, I would also point out these two techniques, which are more personal and quite effective:

1. Warm marketing - promoting business to your friends, relatives, generally people you know.

2. Face To Face Marketing - approaching your prospects or buyers on the street, in the coffee shop, in the grocery store, at hairdresser's, wherever you feel comfortable doing it.

As for the computer and Internet access for completing actions from To-do list, greeting affiliates, checking out company news, receiving and replying emails, there are public computers that can be used for this purpose, e.g. in libraries and coffee shops. If a person owns a smart mobile phone, they can use it as a substitute to a classic computer.

Also, affiliates who have limited access to a computer can save Launchpad lessons or other valuable training materials to a data storage device, when they are near a computer, and than print it out in a printing shop. In this way they can have access to training materials all the time.

Sponsors can also greatly help their PSAs. I have an affiliate who doesn't own a computer and is doing his SFI business from a smart phone. But it was very difficult and nerve-racking for him to create an advertising blog or a website using his phone, so I just made it for him. I created a one-page-website or a splash page for him to use. This is something that is not too difficult or time-consuming for a sponsor to do, and it's an immense help and booster for the PSA.

Limited access to a computer is a challenge but certainly not impossible to participate in SFI.
There are a number of solutions in which this issue could be solved.

1. A family/friends computer.
2. Library.
3. Internet Cafe.

Make a list of all family/friends that have a computer. Think of something you could do for them in exchange for using the computer. Or ask them what you could do for them in exchange for using the computer. If there is 8 family/friend with a computer rotate with each and ask if it is okay to use again next week.

The local library is a perfect place to do your SFI business. The library offers free or low cost access to computers with an internet connection. A quite corner with no distractions to read and learn how to lead a team of affiliates so that you may be able to purchase a computer.

Internet Cafe's are popping up all across the world. I found 4208 internet cafes in 141 countries with a one click search. You will have to pay a small charge for access to computers with an internet connection but you also have an option to purchase and enjoy a cup of java while you learn, earn and lead your team.

Another option is to purchase a Standing Order of 125 TCredit to get 1500 VersaPoints and gaurantee ExecutiveAffiliate every month. Hopefully they might have a cellphone that has computer-type capabilities?:) I speak humorously, but yet seriously, as that is one alternative solution.

If there are libraries, either public or at schools (maybe the school ones could be available after class?), that is one access point.

Cybercafes have internet access, if any of your team have their own computing device but not internet access, I am not sure if they have computers available for use.

Look through your a2a friends for someone in the same country who might live close enough to your affiliate to help out. Check your downline for the same.

An alternative would be to try to buy a used computer, best thought is try to win a computing device in a PriceBenders auction.

And don't forget friends, family and/or neighbors who might be able to help!!

I think there is no ONE way to help, one will have to use some innovative thinking to find alternate ways to get to SFI as regularly as possible. If your affiliate(s) are trying hard to succeed, point out that "Vacation Mode" may be a way to maintain their VersaStreak if they are able to get online fairly regularly.

Always congratulate them whenever they are able to find ways to get online, work to build their business. Moral support goes a long ways in helping people to keep trying to get past difficulties... Where there is a will, there will be a way!!

The first thing to keep in mind is that most people would not even sign up with SFI if they weren't on the internet in the first place. But if you are finding people outside of the Internet with limited access it might be the perfect time to accelerate your own knowledge of offline marketing and recruiting so that you can mentor them in these alternative systems of business growth.

However it goes without saying that it is a virtual impossibility to engage in the SFI opportunity to its’ fullest without access to the internet whether from home, your laptop at the local coffee shop, the library or your smart phone.

This is an internet based business and if someone has issues with their computer or internet access perhaps it would be the perfect time to mentor them in their computer skills and knowledge. Nothing works wonders more than taking a personal interest in a new affiliate and helping them to succeed.

The computer is very essential to access affiliate’s homepage and perform his day-to-day SFI business on the Internet. Using a computer screen people can have visual access to vast amount of information. The SFI affiliate Center contains a lot of information including all the tools of successfully thriving a network marketing business. Having a limited access to a computer slows down an affiliate’s education, training and support of owning his/her SFI business.

How to help affiliates in your group who have limited access to a computer?

- Tell your affiliates to find out if there are community access centers in their areas, which provide for those without access to computers and the Internet for free. There are schools and community centers funded by governments offering such programs to individuals affected with lower income or unemployment.

- There are schools and libraries supporting communities by offering their free resources/services including access to a computer and the Internet.

- Your affiliates need to find out if there is a community technology center program being sponsored by their government or private sector, which provide computer access, assistance and training including access to the Internet.


Conclusion:

In order to help your affiliates effectively, you need to find out the reason for not having full access to a computer. I have outlined above some suggestions and ideas that might be able of help to your affiliates. If they really want to have their own SFI business and to become successful, they will do whatever they can with your support to overcome the challenges that business and life present them.

I live in a country with limited internet availability, especially to those who cannot afford their own service connection. What have I done?

First I had a PSA with no computer. She did have a smartphone and worked hard using that. She could connect at coffee shops and in time got 3G so she was always able to connect but it was slow and laborious.

I taught her how to play the auctions, just some general hints and to watch more than you bid so you get the feel of an auction. She started of first with the First time Winner Auction (1WA). She won a couple items like Sbuilder and such at a reasonable price. So she moved to the Jr Auctions, and I think she is still a Jr Auctioneer.

Well one day she won an iPad Mini and was so excited that she no longer had to do her work on her smartphone. She won it at 1.70 I think, or 1.07, but very cheap. I told her, "Now you are smarter than your phone!" So her computer issues were solved.

I had a nephew with no internet connection and every day he went to the local Buddhist temple and did his SFI work there. But he said it is very slow. When I first taught him about SFI we were at a coffee shop that was very unreliable.

I told him, do SFI everyday for 1 month and I will buy you internet for your home. Then if you promise to "monetize" it you will be able to pay for it yourself each month. He did and I did.

He monetized it by "selling time" to local neighborhood people who would come and play with Facebook or other internet media. He also bought a franchise that allows him to top up Phone service via the net and receive a commission from the phone company.

Now he has 5 to 10 people everyday coming to him for Computer time, or phone time. He tells them all about SFI. I paid for the installation, I paid for his first 2 months. The third month came and I said to him, "What do I owe you for your internet connection?" He said, "No George, what do I owe you? With internet, phone, and SFI I am making a lot of money and I want to pay you back."

In both cases, problem solved.

The problem is not that there are problems. The problem is expecting otherwise. The problem is thinking that having problems is a problem. A problem is just what you encounter as you step up. The solution takes you to an entirely new place. To a better place.
