I have two secrets to share with you and an observation.

The observation is that the sites with the best deals on traffic and advertising in terms of price tend to have the lowest quality traffic and will require more total visitors to achieve similar results to good advertising. Never buy traffic or advertising from a site with an Alexa rank over 300,000 as these sites can't even generate substantial quality traffic for themselves. A 300K Alexa rank is a site getting over 200K monthly visitors in most cases which means they are more likely to be on the up and up.

The other rank in my observation is Google SERPS not Pagerank which was discontinued over a year ago. If you have a tool like Jaxy you can look for potential places to buy advertising in popular low competition search terms. Look for sites with a QSR of 300 or lower so you are not in a bidding war for placements that will drive your cost up.

Now for my secrets:

Secret One is to look at the other ads on a advertising site like USFreeAds or CraigsList and see how many similar programs are advertised there. Also look to see if there are already several SFI Affiliates targeting your local listings because the more SFI Ads in one place the greater chance that these prospects will find SFI through one of them first and you'll just help finalize recruiting someone else's PSA. If there is a lot of local competition recruiting for SFI you can still list a few products for sale at TripleClicks if they have commercial product listings. You can also increase your odds of being the competitng affiliate who wins more referrals by writing better adcopy or paying for featured listings and bold headlines etc..

Secret Two is that a lot of competition is bad but a fair amount is beneficial. If you are the only person showing people SFI they may question if SFI is so great with so few promoting it. My first Traffic Exchange took forever to get off the ground because instead of running a JV or Launch and inviting others to help promote the site and setting targeted places for our team to advertise it was just me surfing a couple hours a day in a dozen exchanges. Most people I talked to said they didn't join because they only saw one guy promoting it. My second exchange I had a big launch week party with team surfs and JV referral contest and we were flooded with members because a lot of people were promoting this new exchange.

Likewise if there are a lot of people advertising SFI then the popularity of the program shines through but you have to find a balance because secret one can come back and bite you too. If too many are promoting it there will seem to be too much competition to succeed, the market will be flooded, and all prospects will have hear or read it all before.

Over 2 BILLION people are on the Internet, you are sure to find many places where SFI has never been heard of, if you come in strong and maybe share the recruiting ground with a handful of your top PSA you should do well, but go big and make sure you are in the game to win the game instead of just throwing up ads and leaving.

Use Tracking Codes, when possible opt for the paid listing, if it's a free traffic exchange instead of earning 100 credits and getting 100 views of SFI a day, earn 100 credits a day for a week and spend them all on Tuesday so your ads dominate the market when they run.

Have more ads at the best times in the best places and BAM your business will grow.

That is a hard question to answer without covering all the different types of advertising that you may be planning to do.

One of the things I have done if it is a free site is to run a ad that you know works well for you on other sites. If it is working well then continue using them – if the results are lower than what you usually receive then don’t use them again.

If it is a paid site for advertising then use Google search to find reviews about the site. If the reviews are good you are pretty much ok in running your ads there. You can Google search reviews on any advertising site you desire including free sites.

Always keep in mind that “reviews” sometimes are written by people who have nothing to do with the site you are checking. I found out that there are services that you can pay for that will give you great reviews for a fee. Some sites pay as much as $5 for each great review that is posted in favor of the site.

The best way to find the good spots to advertise is to get out there in the Internet Market and start placing small ads, free or paid, and track the results. When you find one that is giving you the results that you are looking for by all means keep using them.

Before you judge a site as to its worth always remember that it could be your ad content that isn’t very appealing. Tweek your content and try again with the same site – also try different days of the week and different times during the day – the beginning of the month, middle and end of the month.

As you can see there are a lot of things that can determine if it is your ad or the site that you are using is lowering your results.

I have found that the only way to truly check out a site for advertising is to test, test and test again. Personal experience is the best teacher as to what sites are good for your advertising needs.

Advertisement is basically a means by which we try to promote our products or services. We can not predict the outcome in terms of response it will generate.

However, by knowing certain things before placing an ad. we can do a better job.

1. Choose the Location & know population strength;
2. Know the culture & tradition of the citizens;
3. Know their spending behavior & pattern of spending;
4. Choose the appropriate Language;
5. Select the correct medium of ad. - Audio/Video/Print/Hand Bills, etc;
6. If Mass media like Radio/TV then know the prime time;
7. Keep the ad. budget in mind;
8. Possible, have a test ad. done through a free weekly & see the result;
9. Need be, repeat this & monitor the progress;
10.Take a decision - Go ahead with lot of enthusiasm and optimism;


Even, if the ad. fails to generate the required response do not lose hope. It's a learning experience. You will be able to move forward with caution in future!!

Organizations spend a lot on ads. through Print and other Mass media. Same ad. gets repeated in different TV Channels repeatedly during festive and off seasons. It's all in the game.

No one can predict the outcome before hand. If that is possible, every human being would have been rich and successful businessmen by now. Reality is quite different!!

My friend, if we knew the definitive answer to your question, we would all be rich by now.

Ok, all joking aside, one of the first things I do when determining whether a site is good to advertise on is I check its Google page rank and its Alexa page rank. The higher the rank, the more traffic that site receives, which mean more people who are seeing your ad.

The primary difference between the two is that a site's Google page rank is based upon the keywords that are used to find the site. Let's say for example that a particular site is using the key phrase "business opportunities". That search term produces 767,000,000 results. According to the Google Keyword Tool, that term is searched for roughly 27,100 times per month. Let's say the advertising site you want to use has a Google page rank of 25. Top 30 out of 767 million sites is extremely good, making this site a good site to advertise with.

Alexa page rank is different in that it goes by domain and is dependant upon total number of actual visitors to the site and the average number of page views per visitor. In other words, Alexa tells you how popular the site is. For example, one commonly used classified ad site is USFreeAds.com. According to Alexa, it has a global ranking of 19,930. Interestingly enough, though its name is USFreeAds, according to Alexa, the site is more popular in India than in the United States.

Which do I prefer between the two? Alexa without a doubt. The reason being is that because the Google Keyword Tool is based off of keywords, it is better to determine what are good keywords to use in designing a specialized niche site. Alexa also provides a lot of detailed demographical information as well.

In most cases it is difficult to determine in advance the good spots to advertise without trying them out first, otherwise we all will be advertising there. However, you may have a sense by these methods:

1. Ask others who are experienced to give you advice or to direct you to spots that worked or are working for them where possible. They could be your upline members, a2a friends, colleagues, family, social network friends etc.

2. Some of the spots we advertise have statistics on Impressions, Click True Rate (CTR), membership etc, especially on Pay Per Click (PPC) sites. This will give you a sense of how successful they are.

3. You will have a sense according to the categorisation of ad placements like targeted groups, targeted country etc, where you have the freedom to choose your target according to your preferences regarding where you think most active affiliates come from or those within your geographical region for example.

4. An important indication is to look at the calibre of businesses and individuals placing ads on the particular platform, including looking at their business similarities to ours here in order to attract quality prospects.

5. You can ask the owners or operators of the site any information that gives indication of how successful advertising there can be, that you cannot find on the website.

6. Do some other research about various advertisement media found on local directories that report information regarding the services and results of advertisement, eg about local newspaper and websites.

7. Otherwise, track your current and subsequent ads in order to figure out the ones to stick with or the good spots in order to direct your advertising resources to only those.

In conclusion, I will add that there are 2 types of good spots to place ads; those that generate sufficient traffic and those that have a fairly appreciable conversion rates. To be in the running to potentially increase your conversion rate, I advice you place ads where the traffic is mainly those that are looking for what you are advertising and remember, a good spot costs money.

This is important. It is your ad that is effective not the system. Track visitors not sign ups. Determine the ratio of Sign up to visitor and EA to Sign up for a given site.

Some people think paid advertising is better than free because they paid 50$ and got 8 sign ups. But that was 8 out of 10,000 visitors.

I have a free site I used. The membership was 476, it got me 13 visitors 2 sign ups 1 EA who has been with me 13 months in a row. So tell me which is better? MOst people would not advertise there because the membership was so small.

A visitor a day will get you signups over time. I got a sign up for TripleClicks (PRM). He bought something already. He came from a Banner Ad I placed 8 months ago.

Work together a a team. Join ad sites together. Exposure is what gets response from a prospect. If 10 of you are all at the same place advertising the prospect sees an SFI ad 10 times more than if just one of you is there. This improves the response for everyone. Or set up a coop link in SFI and have all your PSAs participate in the coop. The cost of participation is placing 10 Banners at ad site XYZ. So you're getting the 10X exposure on the site and sharing the results equally.

I have an excel form that I customize for my SFI PSAs and it has their SFI ID, all kinds of SFI banners and Targets URLs (customized for their ID. I also provide 200 Ad sites where I already have success. They can join the site, use promo codes I provide, receive free ad options, and easily populate the site with their ads using the excel file. It makes filling in a free ad site easy.

The longer we stay at SFI we discover that the most important success factor are affiliates. This question I guess is part of that realization.

We need a lot of affiliates because we know that only few of them will become active. It follows that we also need a lot good spots to advertise. These sites maybe free or paid sites.

Is there a way to determine good sites for advertisement? The answer is yes if you know exactly the characteristics of a good site for your advertisement. Here is some helpful guidelines.

Before finding good spots to advertise you must know first your product well. In our case, we can market SFI based on its different features and component.

We can market SFI as an affiliate program where we earn income by commission. This feature of SFI can be marketed in "online earning" sites, like PTC's and all programs that promotes earning online.

The health product of SFI can be promoted in health and wellness related websites. The song of the month in TripleClicks can be promoted in ammature music websites.

The Pricebenders can be promoted to penny bidding auction groups and fora. There are unique features of SFI that we can promote. This is what I mean by knowing our product.

The characteristics of good spot to advertise are:

1. Must be related to what you want to promote. Even google adsense and other similar services are using that principle.

2. If the the ads site is general, see if it has the category where you can put your ads.

3. See how many members that site has, if it has no information see the number of traffic using alexa. The basic assumption is, the more visitor the site has the greater the chance for your ads to be seen.

4. See if the site offers audience targeting like demographics or profile. We want that our ads not only be seen but be seen by the right people. Interested and has the capacity to transact business online with credit cards or paypal account.

We can determine the best spots to advertise by assessing the activities that are conducted in a particular place and the kinds of people that frequently occupy or come to visit that location. Then, look at your advertising materials and consider whether any aspects of SFI relate to the location and the people. Would these people have a need for any of the things that SFI provides?

For example, people at an arcade enjoy playing games, so that would probably be a good place to advertise Eager Zebra games. Do you know any small business owners in your neighborhood? If so, they might be interested in extending their presence to the internet. So, consider handing out ECA program brochures to them. If you're getting work done on your car, why not strategically place a couple of car magnets, so that people at the shop notice and inquire about SFI or TripleClicks? Don't forget posting TCMusic flyers at clubs that host Amateur Nights!
