I am of the opinion that your ads should link to your webpage or blog for the following reasons:

1. It is your personal website/blog so you are at liberty to design it as you want to suit your objectives.

2. You are also free to make changes to meet current challenges and to also design it to suit your immediate and future marketing requirements.

3. Your website/blog is personal so your website url may not be subject to bans and other negative vices associated with links that have been blocked or black listed.

4. It may create more confidence especially from your warm market or those who know you personally.

5. Apart from what visitors see on the pages the link directs them, there is the added possibility that visitors may be attracted to other areas of this business which your lead link did not envisage your visitors to visit.

6. If you provide a personalised and simplified training area on your website/blog, your new signups may start work immediately as it may be easier to follow the steps you have modified.

7. The ambience (atmosphere) of your website/blog has the potential to make your visitors stay longer on site which may increase the potential of conversions.

Having said this, the responsibility is yours to make your website/blog very professional and also note that you bear responsibility for any violations of any rules, regulation and laws associated with your conduct in operating your website/blog.

The reason for your advertisement is to get as many people to SFI and TripleClicks.
Your ad may link to your website/blog from there the person can be directed to SFI/TripleClicks, provided your webpages and blogs contain the SFI gateways.

Your SFI gateways is the link that you have to include in your blog. You can place it at the end or even within the blog ,is up to you. And as the person reads your blogs sees the link and clicks on it will bring him/her to the SFI/TripleClicks page that you want him/her to see.

I have my own Blog.

Initially, when I tried to place SFI gateway in social media, some of them rejected it out right.

Then, I provided my Blog link which was accepted. In the Blog I provided (what ever details I thought it fit) details and mentioned by SFI Gateways also.

Even though I had lot many visitors, the results were not satisfactory. Many people contacted me over phone and mail but the sign ups were very few.

The feed back that I received from one of the sign ups was that the information about SFI business was not well presented in the Blog.

I tried using different Gateways provided by SFI. But I didn't see much improvement in sign ups.

The moment SFI introduced the JMT Gateway, I placed my link in social media, ads, etc. The link provides all essential information about SFI Business and also about me and my achievements.

The results are encouraging. I await more sign ups now.

Conclusion:

I would strongly suggest providing your JMT Gateway link in all your ads and communications. It will certainly attract more visitors and quality sign ups.

Your question is confusing, interesting but is quite valid. Most of us have our own websites. At least we have a blog. Now as you have rightly put, we get confused where and how SFI should be advertised? There are two options as follows:

1. Ads link to Webpage/Blog

Advantages:
You get publicity as a good blog or website maker. Along with SFI and TripleClicks you can direct your viewers to a large number of business opportunities to choose from. Also it depends on the content of your blog that decides the direction of action of your viewer.

Disadvantage:

As there may may a main content along with various types of Banners, links and other thing that come along with Blog/webpage making may totally confuse your viewer and he may not be able to decide what to read and what to join or what not to join.

2. Ads directed to SFI Gateways:

But if your Ads are directed to the SFI page/Gateway, there is no reason for your customer/viewer to get confused. Here is has only two options, either join you or not join but there is no confusion. Therefore, in my opinion sending your leads to SFI gateways is much preferred and beneficial. You can additional use the webpage/blog for a better change to gain more exposure of your content and offers

The best approach to use will be determined by where you are doing your advertising.

If you are going to advertise in social sites then using you web-page blog would be better because your blog URL will not contain information that is blocked by social networks.

If you are doing Email advertising through safe sites I would use an SFI Gateway. The reason I do this mainly is because the SFI Gateway landing page I use has the sign-up form on the page.

If I am advertising in newspapers I will direct people to my personal blog URL and run another ad in the same page that takes people to my SFI Gateway. This way I am split testing which method is working best in the newspaper ads. So far the best results is by using my SFI Gateway.

It is good to seek advice to gain knowledge on what kind of system or URLs to use but in reality the best approach will be one that you feel good about using. You need to practice advertising in many different forms and don’t forget to track all your results.

The system you learn to be good at (draws more contacts and sign-ups) should be the system you learn to perfect. Keep tweaking your ad until it draws the most desired results.

Link some of your ads to your own webpage/blog and some to an SFI gateway. Test and track between the two to find the best combination for you. This is the best approach because your ad results will depend on where you advertise, your skill sets, and tracking for improvement.

Moreover, consider that any SFI gateway will probably rank higher than your blog/website in the search engine results. I have some ads going to my personal gateway and others going to my website and more going to my blog.

As for which is the best approach the links going to my blog or website are to improve my site or blog ranking in Google and the other search engines. So this gives you part of the why as well.

If you want the links to go to your own website or blog then they either need to be all about SFI or TripleClicks or they need to have an auto forward to go onto your gateway. If those don't click the links on your website then it could mean lost potential affiliates.

To put your SFI links on Twitter or Facebook you will need to use your webpage or blog links to get past the Twitter and Facebook spam engines.
