Not using the auto-bidder! Using auto bidder is you against all other bidders, spending more TCredits. For example, three different bidders in 3 seconds, you are over each of them and spending 3 TCredits. Without autobider you would spend only one TCredit bidding after the three of them (example) not between each bidder.
I find that using the auto-bidder is best if You have 300 TCredits or more to start out with, AND You enter the bidding process at the last or closest to the last times. Which would be when the timer is down to around 19 or less seconds.

Hello. Are you going to use autobider, depends on several things. If you are repeatedly being auctioned then you use at the beginning, about 20TC, after shut down, let them spend, you can only keep a auction. When they start to give up, when it's less people at the auction, then turned back on autobider at about 20TC.

Use in an intelligent auto-bidder can always help.
If I want to win the auction, I use it following the auction and the participants.
If you want to do VP for qualifying, I define the maximum number to use and look that you run out of Tcredit.
Which is better for winning Pricebenders auctions: using the auto-bidder or not using auto-bidder?
In certain types of auctions labeled NAB was not allowed to even use autobider. I think that in such auctions we win products at lower prices and usually the CSA, PSA, Tcredits or SBuilder. This tells us that autobider quickly raises the price of the product in the auction, and I do not think that is useful to the contestants unless they have really much TCredits that they can spend.
For winning pricebenders auctions using the two choices for bidding depends on the bidding. When their is multiple bidding by more than 3 affiliates auto-bidding should not used. Manual bidding is the best option. Auto-bidding can be used when the participation from the affiliates is very less for the bidding. It depends on the intuition by the particular affiliates in the auction.

Usually and commonly, i preferred using manual bid to control my Tcredits.
Unless...
If you have many Tcredits with no way to spend and not interested in other games, then you may use it under auto bidder way. Auto bidder is more useful especially when you wish to away or excuse yourself for a while but you not intend to loose the bid item.
