It's really impossible to insure that your TripleClicks gift cards are used.
I have given out dozens and many don't bother to use them.

It's important to record who you are giving your TC gift cards to. I keep a notebook, a calender and the Gift Cards with me all the time.

I go back to business owners and the others that haven't used their Gift Cards.
Since we have an internet service monopoly and this company we must use, will not lift the spam order on SFI and TripleClicks. Having this problem, I must tell the people I'm giving the gift card, that they will need to use Chrome or Firefox and why if they already use one of them. This is another reason I go back and remind them that they still have the card and if they have a few minutes for me to show them how to use the website. If they don't have the time then, I set up a time to come back and talk with them. Doing this is a way to set them up on my website, show how to use the website, and use the Gift Card.
This is a good way set up a new PRM (Personal Referred Members) or getting a new ECA for their business and yours. Some will do this and some won't.

Having digital Gift Cards are nice to use to send in e-mails to friends and family.
If you are going to use them for Social Media or your website, I suggest that you have the interested party sign up on TripleClicks and then send them the Gift Card. This will help keep from having fraud on how your gift cards are used. I always ask for an e-mail from the interested party after they sign up on my Tripleclicks sight.

We all know that if we distribute many cards, expect that not ALL to whom we handed the card will redeem this valuable gift card, but, you can minimize your valuable card to just got wasted.

When you hand or give someone a gift card, do not forget to ask for their e-mail addresses.

Make sure you visit your Gift Card Tracker report (My Account/My Reports/Gift Card Tracking or http://www.sfimg.com/gctrack ), wherein you will see a space for entering e-mail addresses. If you see a card on your Tracker report that hasn't been redeemed, you can send them an e-mail and remind them that the gift card is redeemable for $12 in TCredits and MRP (Member Rewards Points) at TripleClicks.com! They can participate in the Knock-out Trivia Game, Auction or even purchase an item (of course equivalent to $12 only). :)

One way or another there is no guarantee for this business that anything will go the way we planned,but there are ways to increase our chanses.

Well,here you asked two questions that inspire me to give you one general answer which i will later explain.

You make sure your gift cards are used by giving them to prospects intested in shopping and reassign them if they are not used within few days.

Remember,your end goal here are COMMISSIONS.

The ''one card per day" suggestion given by SFI applies here.

Advertise TripleClicks products every day.

With friends and family it's a lot easier because you can trust them to use the cards as a favour to you.

In personal contact whith a prospect you should give them the card if they are interested in buying something.

When a person responds to your ad wanting to know about the product,and when/if it comes to the point they are really interested-give them the gift card.

Keep a contact list of your prospects. If they don't redeem the gift cards soon,notify them about the time frame you scheduled for re-assigning if they don't redeem their gift card.

This is easily done whith digital codes,but for physical cards you shoul copy the codes provided to be able to re-print and re-assign them.

IT is hard to judge if people will use the TC Gift Cards. I have personally handed out 90 and not one has been used as of yet. I do not let that bother me though. I will continue to hand them out. I think of it as a potential client, in business not every person is going to be interested in your product. It is an investment that I might get a return on just as purchasing PSA/CSA to go. How many PSA/CSA's end up sticking it out.

The bottom line is, if you don't hand out the cards you are not helping advertise your business. The cards are an inexpensive way to advetise. If you hand one a day out throughout the month, you are only spending $30 for the month in advertising. To make money we have to spend money.

If you have handed a card to people you are comfortable talking with give them a call and ask them if they have checked out items they can purchase with the card. You could tell them that you just gave them a $12 bill and the yare not spending it. Let them know that there is no obligation to them for using the card just thought they deserved it.

I have been seeing quite a few answers that discuss how people ensure the gift cards are used but not many with what to do if they aren't used.

The many answers for ensuring were good, such things as sending e-mails reminding people they have the gift card or calling them to remind them they have the gift card, assuming you have their e-mail and/or phone number.

One suggestion I have for what to do if they aren't used is as follows:

First I let the person receiving the gift card know that the gift card code is available to them for a limited time, for example 30 days, and if they do NOT use within 30 days, the code will be given to someone else.

How you might ask? well you have a list of ALL the gift cards numbers and can see if they have been redeemed or not, in the Gift Card tracker. I usually will mention 30 days, but actually will wait a bit longer before I give out the code again. Granted you will not receive the 10 Vp's when you recycle a number, but you do give that number another chance of being used, because the key is to have people use them and once they do, you have a better chance of gaining their interest.

So be sure to recycle old codes to maximize the effectiveness of the gift cards without any additional cost.

It is easy to track whether your gift card is being used as there is an embed QR code attached to the card if it is an e-card. If it is a hard copy, it is always good to take a written note of the recipients who were given the cards and then submit their information in the tripleclicks log. That way when the person actually logs in you will receive that credit.
Just like any gift card that is awarded, it is a gift. One cannot be forced to utilize the gift, it should be of their free will. A gentle nudge that shares any special promotion on tripleclicks that may be of interest can be a great incentive to encourage the recipient to use the card, but in the final analysis it will be a matter of choice.

Send a follow-up letter to remind people they have a TC gift card and explain how they can use it.If you know them you can send them a couple of links to items you know they will like.

If you don't know them,you could make a small selection of items so that they will get interested to have a look at what else is available.Tell them there are almost 100.000 products on TripleClicks.

If they still don't use them,there is not much one can do,we can't force anyone.
