According to my opinion you should utilize the both. If friends, family are committed voters then strangers are floating voters. Remember the floating voters may be a measuring stick of your win of success

So you should concentrate to the both. It is true that we do not advertise and promote our SFI/TC business only for our friends and family. We should try to attract other peoples also as we don’t know when a volcano would wake up

It is also a fact that we get new sign-ups time to time to whom we don’t know. Isn’t it?

Therefore, it is better to promote SFI to our friends, family in one hand and to the strangers in other hand

Promote SFI to whoever is willing to take charge of their life and have their own business, be they friends, family, or an ordinary stranger.

SFI is designed for people from every corner of the globe to build a business, gain financial freedom, and learn leadership skills. It really doesn't matter if it's a stranger, your mom, dad, or even your cousin.

In a nutshell, it's better to market SFI to everybody and anybody who is willing to put in work to get out of that financially draining quicksand.

This is a choice that will depend on how excited your friends and family are about your success and commitment to SFI.

It can be easier to promote within your circle if they see your success, or it might upset them that you are trying to "Sell" them. My family doesn't seem to be interested yet, but I believe when they see how successful I will be with SFI, they will change their mind.

Sometimes it may be better to promote to strangers when first starting out. This really depends on your situation.

Many marketers are over extended the good will they have had with family and friends, trying to sell them every program they come across. We definitely want to avoid that.

However, to be really successful with SFI, it is highly commendable to promote to both

(a) your warm market (family, friends, co-workers, business relationships) as well as to (b) the wider market at large (the world wide market of home based business prospects)

But, first, some preliminary precautions are necessary to avoid burning out your warm market.

A. Avoid Jumping from one Business Opportunity to the Next.

Those marketers who have over extended their good will with their warm markets are most likely those who jump from one business to the next, then try to sell it to their close relatives and friends. Understandably, you would get tired about that as well.

B. SFI is a Unique Opportunity.
It is better to stick with SFI and make it the primary business you are promoting.
This will show that you take it very seriously and will convince your prospect of SFI's value and potential

C. Convey to all your prospects your commitment to SFI.
As you are serious and highly committed to SFI, this will translate in the way you communicate with others

You are not selling them 10 (ten) different business opportunities.
You are only (or mainly) showing all our prospects the value and potential of SFI.
You are more focused, more professional, and more convincing.
Thus, you will be more successful.

Especially for shy beginners, the close relationship they enjoy with family and friends may make it easier to promote SFI with them. Surely if you have a WAVE3 sticker on your car or wear SFI/TRIPLECLICKS Clothing, it will spark questions from curious family members and friends, opening the way for you to promote your business.

But, it is important to remember that easier is not necessarily better. For sure, among family and friends aside from the curious, there will be the scoffers, and the wary. And, there will be those who out of respect will just stare ahead waiting for you to finish – zero interest!

The responses from those close to us can vary widely. To a large extent our success in marketing our business to our family and friends is dependent on 2 factors –
1) How each individual views you - Are you viewed as someone sound in judgment with a “good business head” or gullible?
2) The present goals and financial situation of that person - If earning extra money for whatever reason is important right now, it may supply the drive for them to commit.

On the other hand, since they don’t know you, strangers will assess the worth of your presentation by its content and of course their own interests and needs at the time.

For example, the WAVE3 sticker on your car and a brief explanation may do the trick. Just be sure to have a few X-cards (with your gateway link added) on you to hand out. Additionally, ask for the person’s email address to supply more information. That gives you more time to choose the right approach for that individual and gives the individual more time to review the information you provide. (This method has worked for me.)

Furthermore if you advertise on Safe lists, Traffic Exchange sites, your use your own Website or Blog for example, you can promote your business successfully without having to talk to, or see anyone face to face! You’ll just need to make your ads and data attractive and appealing to the mind and eye. The anxiety to explain it just right with a curious yet critical family member, friend or stranger looking straight at you, is out the window!

So, since the success rate is quite low with either group, rather than singling out a particular group, I think it is better to promote your SFI business to family, friends AND strangers.
You never know where you’ll have success!!

Stream, PSA/CSA mailer, and ASK SC. The SFI Forum gains are in the form of a badge. Badges are excellent self motivation tools. Set short/long term goals to achieve them and choose how many you want under your name. Tell yourself: 'I will because I can'!!!

In our country we have a proverb: "With the family eat and drink, do not do the business". And I think it is so right!

Why do I say so? Well, if they do not succeed as they expected they will blame you, not themselves. That is just in people's nature. Yes, it is easier to explain something to someone that you are close to, but as I said you may get in conflict with your friends or family members and you do not need that.

It is easier to do the business with people who are strangers. Specially if you find the people who think alike.

Anyway, it is up to you to decide what is the best for you.

I think this depends on which group you feel more comfortable with, at least when you start!
Some people feel embarrassed at the idea of talking to friends and family about an opportunity like SFI, or afraid that they will reject them. If that is you, then start with strangers.

Others feel totally comfortable with family and friends, but hate the idea of starting a conversation with a stranger! If that is you then start with your friends and family!! You can move on to the more stressful group later if you want!

Just remember that there are more strangers in the world than friends and family, no matter how big your family is!

I've looked at this question for awhile and finally decided to put my answer in. In my heart of hearts I believe that you should NOT promote SFI or anything else for that matter to your family and friends. Understand I'm not saying this because you don't like your friends and family. But because you do and don't want that feeling to change on either of your parts. I can give you three BiG reasons not to:
#1. If something happens and they do not succeed as you did, or they just didn't like it, or it just wasn't for them. Then they blame YOU!
#2. They get tired of you asking them every time you come up with something new. What's interesting and fun for you may not be for them.
#3. Your friends and family will start to run when they see you. They'll start avoiding your calls. Stop inviting you to their events.

So believe me strangers are much nicer, kinder, gentler people to promote SFI to and to sell to. They will at least listen and consider what you are saying. I know I must be the odd man(woman) out, but oh well.

From my point of view, certainly starting with family and friends is the best solution. Also because you have more confidence and are more willing to listen to you. If you can make it clear what is meant by SFI and convey their enthusiasm to start this way, you won't have no problem talking about affiliates, more ability to communicate, to get together to discuss directly on various systems to improve the strength of the team! Then it might expand to scrub oil, very quickly and collect the results immediately. Having said that, I got the first results, we must look forward, extend its activities across the border, it becomes very challenging, but I'd like to compare the success worldwide and have a fold-over their personal economy!!! Then start with friends and family, but then develop with strangers!
