What new affiliates do in their first month will either

(ii) Hinder it and make it difficult for them to recover from their early mistakes
The first month is critical.
Your question is timely for we all need to be fully aware of it, as team leaders.
It is also a timeless question, as every day, new affiliates are faced with it.
So, what is it?
Build a Sound Knowledge Base
For actions to be successful in the long term and for that success to be sustainable, they have to be built upon thorough and sound knowledge applied with wisdom and well thought planning.
The only way these new affiliates can correctly answer your question is through the wise support, and help from their team leaders. Team Leaders have to be the best sponsors they can.
From the inception, team leaders may want to steer their new affiliates toward learning the SFI Business, fully understanding it and knowing how to apply the knowledge they have acquired.
Building such knowledge has (a) immediate and (b) long term advantages
I. Immediate Advantages of Gaining Sound Knowledge of the SFI Business
The SFI business model is built on sound principles of success translated into modules of training and set out to be released for learning throughout the first 30 days. The video that presents SFI and help affiliates “Getting Started” explain this very clearly

A. Benefits
When a new associate follows the outlined training schedule, they will achieve the most meaningful results such as Fast Track, then Executive Affiliate.
There are even affiliates who choose to speed up their training and reach Bronze Team Leader in their first week and follow it by scoring the status of Gold Team Leader within their first month.
If they balance this approach with sales of Tripleclicks products and sponsoring, they will start earning income in their first month.

B. But there are also Risks
All this is good, if the training is thoroughly done, and speed is not achieved to the detriment of acquiring deep rooted and solidified knowledge.
However if speed is given preference over knowledge acquisition, then, very likely, the affiliate may suffer the consequence of neglecting his training.
We see many affiliates who reach Bronze or Gold Team Leader status in their first month, but revert to Executive Affiliate or even mere Affiliate status, because they do have the knowledge and wisdom to apply that would help them maintain their previously achieved higher rank level.
It is the responsibility of the sponsor to steer new affiliates in the right direction to help them emphasize solid knowledge and speed simultaneously or at least focus primarily on knowledge acquisition.

It is the ability acquired through full comprehension of the SFI Business model and business plan.
