I recommend that you reward affiliates that reach out to you and take your wise counsel. Those that do not reach out to you in most cases they will not respond to anything that you do. Don't reward apathy! Following the golden rule for success in SFI - Work with the Workers. If you do this, you will be happy with the results you get from your affiliates.
Even so, you will still have affiliates that do nothing. That's not a reflection on you but just know that SFI is not for everyone. The playing field is level. So you don't have to feel sorry for sorry affiliates. The best thing you can do to get inactive affiliates active is to communicate with them in the first 24 hours of them signing up. If you get a dialogue going, help them grow their business. Don't show your affiliates that you are interested in what's in it for you but prove that you are in it for them. Then you will be able to take your SFI business to the top!
While I have given rewards to those who work, I know they appreciate my unrelenting commitment to see their goals come true. Selfless sacrifice and understand that you were once where they are in their understanding of SFI. Relate to their issues and concerns and if you can give a gift certificate it will go along ways. Personalization to email communication can work wonders. Show your affiliates that you genuinely are there for THEM. If you do, you will get more inactive affiliates to take action. Walk them through the decision process. I find that this helps more than giving them anything; although, I have given gift certificates, reassignments, co-op shares, gifts and affirmation. Following the rules of good sponsorship can go a long ways. Nevertheless, you can't do anything about affiliates that aren't cut out for internet marketing. Some will - Some won't - So what!
