Thank you for your question because I'm sure that all sponsors face this situation. When I first started I was one of the confused. ( very confused! ) when my sponsor tried to explain TCredits, VP, MRP, duplication, etc., I felt as though he was speaking a different language even though we were both speaking English. One of his best pieces of advice was to study my Launchpad lessons and to write down any questions that I had. He emphasized to write the question as soon as I didn't understand something because otherwise I might forget. I also took notes because when I write something down, it helps me to stay focused on what I am reading. I would contact him after I made the list and we would go over my questions. It worked. I started to understand what I needed to do to reach my goals.
I also learned a lot from ASK-SC and the Forum. I stress to my team that these are two valuable ways to learn more about SFI. I have heard people complain that reading the answers in ASK-SC is boring but it isn't to me. There can be as many different opinions as there are people writing them. I can honestly say that there has never been a day that I didn't find out something new at one or both of these resources.
I believe in reading. That means that take the time to read the information on my to-do list instead of just waiting for the tab to turn color. That means that I take the time to read the newsletters and emails because it keeps me up to date on the important changes and events that lately seem to occur daily. I can't be a successful leader without the knowledge that I need to lead. I can't clear up my team's confusion if I am confused because I haven't been paying attention to what is happening.
