There is no definitive answer because that depends on you. How much experience do you have? How much do you know about marketing? How much time can you devote? How much budget can you commit?
Once started it is often a series of trial and error. Some people do well instantly, while others might work for weeks without realizing any real success.
LaunchPad 11 really does a good job of dealing with the topic. There is a suggestion of committing at least a year, and I recommend 2 years before even thinking about quitting.
For me, the first 6 months was a big learning curve. Year 2 though, saw over a 300% increase in commissions. Year 3 is ahead of year 2 pace. It is continually growing!
I am sorry that nobody can give you a direct, specific answer, but hopefully you see the potential.
