Followers can easily sense tendencies of a leader coming across as demanding for selfish interests rather than those of the people being served.
The sponsor cannot force the affiliate to stay at SFI as that is neither guiding nor helping. It is better for the sponsor to adapt a friendly approach that involves listening first.
Take an example of say advising your affiliate on the advantages of setting up a standing order at Triplecliks in order to maintain EA status with ease. It would be wrong to tell the affiliate that he or she MUST set up a standing order because that would be viewed as demanding. A better approach would be to say that it is a good idea to set up one if you can afford. There are many reasons why people may not do this or that and some issues are outside the sponsor’s control.
Above all, it is better to demonstrate your leadership by example; for there is nothing worse than telling your affiliates to do things that you are not doing yourself. Leading by example also make the duplication process is easier. The affiliate will follow your words, if they are matched by your deeds.
