In my opinion, the best time to start buying PSAs is when you are comfortable doing so. By that, I mean you are comfortable enough in your knowledge of SFI to lead and advise others. You don't need to know everything there is to know about SFI first, just enough that you are comfortable leading others in your footsteps. Once you are in that comfort zone, you can confidently lead others to follow.
If you are not confident for those who follow, they will tend to not follow. It is very disheartening to sign up for something thinking that you will have someone there, and then find out that your sponsor isn't confident enough to give you guidance, or your sponsor does nothing to help.
So to me if you are confident, then go ahead and start getting PSAs. Get them as soon as you feel ready to lead. Good luck, hope this has helped.
