Retiring from SFI is like retiring from life itself. That’s how I feel and so thinking of when to start preparing for retirement from SFI is like preparing for the end of your life!
But no matter what your age is, it is always prudent to plan for retirement from SFI, if ever you're thinking of doing something else, or due to health reasons.
The time to start preparing for retirement is now and should comprise of the following actions.
Start by organizing your desk. Get a notebook, write down the important things you do everyday when you sit in front of your PC or any other device you normally use.
Write down the important details of logging in and your password and other important links.
Write down a step-by-step SFI procedures of performing Daily to-do tasks which will will be handy for whoever takes over your business, be it your spouse or your adult child.
Although these steps are all set out in your Homepage, writing them down will make it more user-friendly and adds to understanding the procedures better because of the personal touch you put on it.
Then write down your line of sponsorship, starting with you, your 5 Team Leaders, if you have any, if none yet leave it blank to be filled up later. Under them, their own team, if any. And Make a note to refer to Genealogy for the complete picture of how healthy and profitable your business looks. This also makes your online SFI business more real to your successor.
You can add anything of importance for your successor. Then put the notebook in a safe place. Be sure to update it as your business grows.
Then continue as per normal- sponsor, build deep, and promote, build customer base, refer ECAs, and watch your business prosper and your commission grow bigger. When the time comes for you to retire, you can relax and enjoy the fruits of your labour, knowing your SFI business is in good hands and will continue to grow and be passed on to the next generation, leaving a great legacy for your family.
