This may happen very easily with new SFI recruits. As sponsors, we are eager to welcome them, help them, give them tips, encourage them, try to make them aware of the various deadlines they face along their road to full fledged, well trained affiliates.
First, our affiliates need to absorb what they are being taught, make it an integral part of their personal knowledge base and their own experience.
But, in our eagerness, we forget that SFI Corporate has scheduled a series of communication deliveries that are more comprehensive, time tested and proven to be more effective to get the new affiliate fully trained and up to date.
The potential of information overload is so real that SFI Corporate has just released an alert on the topic, providing us with a detailed listing of all the messages sent to new sign-ups in their first 31 days, including the 30 launchpad lessons we all go through.
This alert advises us to "align our new PSA welcoming" efforts with those of.SFI Corporate . It lists all the emails the new SFI affiliate will receive.

This is a salutary reminder for every sponsor. It is the first, major piece of the answer to your question.
To welcome and help our new affiliates, without overwhelming them, we need to follow the sponsoring guidelines. Our welcome letter should reflect the spirit and content of the draft welcome letter made available to us. Our communications with our new team members should focus on personalizing our business relationships, trying to understand their motives, their goals and their needs. We should build upon that understanding and offer them the support tailored to their personal situations and expectations.
We should refrain from pressuring the affiliate on issues of standing order (SO), fast track, E365 contest, as they are addressed in the mail sent by SFI Corporate. We can however mention these questions in the blogs we post on our Leadership page and use our stream update to motivate our team member to read them, if they so choose.
Our weekly team mails should be tailored toward mentoring and offering support.
Overall, it is more important to give the affiliate a sense of friendliness, and availability than to repeat to them information they can find else where in the SFI website, especially if they do not ask for it.
We only need to make them aware that the communications lines are open and they can contact us when they desire to do so. This way, we will remain a support reference for them.
By doing so, we can be helpful, without being overbearing and drowning our affiliate under the weight of too much ill timed messages and unwanted information.
