To lead by example requires the following:
1. Being a successful leader. Nobody follows a failure. This is the pivot of everything.Your success will speak in your earnings as well as your badges and what you've won in the business. That is what they will want to see first. This is the yardstick that'l demonstrate your leading example.
2. Being a good example to your team. Show them that SFI works by the way you run your SFI business.
3. Accomplishing first what you are asking them to do. Be a doer of your instructions.
4. The building qualities and skills and the ability to lead. Not everybody can lead but it can be developed. You must have the qualities that make you a true leader. It is these traits your team will also see in you before you can demonstrate your leading example to them.
5. Ability to help and support them when necessary and when needed. John C Maxwell said, 'your team will overlook your absence, but they will never forget your absence when they needed you most'.
6. Ability to teach, train and help them to be successful. This is you duplicating yourself in them. This is the peak of leadership. The ability to train others to the point where you are no more needed and they can operate their business on their own and that without your support. This is like creating other leaders in your team. This is the power of duplication.
7. Ability to win the Leadership Challenge Contest at least once. This badge is the proof of your leadership ability, acknowledged by SFI themselves. This is will boost your team's morale and momentum to accomplish the same.
8. Attaining the Leadership rank.
Like my sponsor would say, 'attaining the TL rank challenges your team to rise higher in rank as well because they see you attain it. If you wait, they too will wait. Waiting for you to attain it first'.
8. Make sure that you attain as much badges as you can with many laurels of winnings to show for it. I realize that you are an ECA. That's good. This will encourage your team members to become one and know that you are a serious leader worth duplicating. That is another way to demonstrate your leading example.
These will boost your confidence to teach, train and lead your team and they'l believe you because they see you do it and they will follow suit.
The above are what i saw in my sponsor that made me duplicate her and it is showing in my business.
Do the same and you will end up showing them by example.
