This question occupies me for a while, and, in my opinion, prospective ECA representer should be informed that SFI enables several additional marketing advantages for advertising ECAs products:
¤ Free advertising through thousands of SFI affiliates, their sites and blogs, specialised and targeting right audience.
Free online presentation of products, personalised ECA web address which means connection with the customers all over the world through serious and reliable online shopping site.
¤ Mutual interest with SFI affiliates which will choose his/her store over any other similar store, and similar products, because they have additional interest in building their own business (earning VP and MRP points).
Local customers, SFI affiliates, will also choose that particular ECA, even more so when shipping isn't an obstacle, and for consumable products - on regular basis. Nothing is more valuable for an entrepreneur that loyal customers.
¤ In an ideal situation prospective ECA representer would see interest in becoming SFI affiliate or in referring SFI affiliates and take advantage of both business endeavors.
Marketing research, obtaining and presenting numbers for each relevant factor, such as activity of SFI and TripleClicks members in the geo-economics areas, through infographics or PowerPoint presentation would add necessary professional note.
It's important to have promo-material which would be reminder for consideration of advantages of participation in ECA program.
Finally - there's nothing to lose in ECA program participation, except relatively small amount of time.
