I personally believe the most important thing about a welcome letter is that it should be succinct. I don't want to overburden them with information that is over and above the flood of data they are receiving.
I'm presenting here a list of things you could put into a welcome letter but I'm prefacing it here by saying you should pick and choose of what goes in and certainly is should not be all. Perhaps you might consider making a series of three welcoming letters so you can drip-feed out the tips.
1. Begin your welcome by pointing out where the Start, SFI Basics & Launchpad buttons are. These are really pivotal towards learning.
2. Point out the value of doing the Fast Track items on the To-Do
3. Explain about the To-Do list.
4. Talk about the critical importance of doing the daily/weekly tasks
5. Encourage the new affiliate to get in touch with you. And inform him or her about the best ways you can communicate.
6. School the PSA on the merits of duplication and how it is easier to sell the notion of SO and FT when you actually have those badges yourself.
7. Reiterate how the person has made the right choice in joining and express your commitment to their success.
Pick some from this list and/or add some of your own. Make your letter informative, entertaining and concise. This is your first step and first contact with someone that could turn out to be a long time business associate of yours so make a good impression.
