People access the internet in different ways and these can affect the methods of communication available/effective. I personally like to use SFIIM but some of my PSAs seem to have a problem with that. My second best way of real-time communicating is by Facebook messenger but the differing world time-zones can cause difficulties in that. A standby method of communication is with team mail and/or message cards.
The way of setting it up is something that generally evolves instead of something that I have planned. I suppose my communication evolving procedure could best be described as a flow chart.
Step 1 - I send out a welcome message on a card. Do they answer? Yes. No.
Yes - Proceed to step two
No - Proceed to step five
Step 2 - Send initiation of SFI Chat. Do they Join In? Yes. No
Yes - Success. Ideal communication is established.
No - Go to step 3
Step 3 - Send Facebook address and invite to IM. Facebook communication established Y. N.
Yes - Success. Communication established
No - Go to step 4
Step 4 - Send team mail or message card and invite the new affiliate to reply. Reply Yes No
Yes - success. Communication established
No - Keep sending team mail and hope for the best.
