In the beginning, you are entitled to ask everything and anything. Sponsor must be your guide and a friend. But you have to listen, research and learn independently. If sponsor is a great one, he will be there for you always, but I have learned a lot from my PSAs also. They are the best I have pleasure to work with. Sponsor may make mistakes, therefore it's in your interest to obtain as many information as possible. If she or he doesn't acknowledge or ignore mistakes then of course don't really on that person at all. Specially for those who don't understand English very well, sponsor is essential, but you don't want to be dependent, and let your decisions be made by others. Learn, read and listen well.
