I think there is not too much you can do to gain maximum support from your upline. Let me explain why.
Being a good sponsor is part of what the company teach us when we join, but is up to each member to provide good support to his team. A sponsor should not provide support based on a member performance or results, he should provide support no matter what the results from a member on his team are.
There are members that are committed with the above and are very good sponsors, but others are not, anyway, you should not worry on getting maximum support from your upline since your success on this business does not depend on your sponsor but on your own effort and work.
The company provide us with all the information, training and support so we don't have to depend in one person to succeed. There is the Forum also where you can get more support most of the times than with your upline.
If you are lucky to have a good sponsor, then try to obtain the most benefits from that, but if not, don't worry and focus on your business.
