I think communication is definitely key, therefore don't be afraid to check out there leadership page and review their badges, sort of get to know them and follow their blog. Displaying your leadership and entusiasm by achieving your goals, participating daily in your to dos and forum discussions, as well as the contests that take place. They need your support as much as you need theirs because if you succeed they succeed and vise versa.
I personally would follow their post and like them (thumbs up) on the content that they share as to show that you support them, but also your sponsor is there to guide you so if your having a hard time or questions you cant get answers to by shadowing them, check to see if they are online and start up a conversation with them. The more they know about you and your goals the more they can find personal solution(s) or guidance for you. You can make this easier by allowing them on your profile page to have access to read your details/dreams/goals...(its an optional checkbox)
I've also personally been noticed by my sponsor each time i earn a badge or win a prize...
through email, post, e-card etc.. although don't be discouraged if you haven't had the same experience with you sponsor, as the more affiliates you sponsor the larger the workload can be a little more difficult to keep up and/or fall behind with communication. you could always make suggestions to your sponsor such as a team contest, or team names etc.. by showing interest it can spark motivation for them to be more in touch with you, as some affiliates rather not be bothered unless necessary.
Co-sponsors are also there to help if needed you could send them a quick email asking for some guidance.
Don't forget having discussions with other affiliates such as your a2a friends as you can share and help guide one another internationally.
My best advice is to not so much worry about having your sponsor notice you but try to get yourself noticed by prospects, businesses, possible sales customers, and getting SFI/TC noticed.
And I feel the best guidance provided by a sponsor is to to do as they wish there team to do and lead by example ....Be a good role model.
And lastly if you've already asked for help and guidance more than once and have had no response try another person on your upline team:)
We all learn from each other, I always try to learn by my experience with others such as be sure not to repeat the same mistakes or by using the experience to give others in the future a better experience!
