I think you need to find first one active affiliate if you find 1000 inactive affiliates who never log on you can not succes. If you find some affiliate is very active and interested and always try to contact your and ask you I think he or she is the real active and you can make him or her your future active affiliate. Help him or her to solve all queries. If you think you can help him or her you can ask him/her to ask your sponsor or contact support or write his or her answer to youtube or google.
