I believe that any mail you write to your downline through the Genealogy Mailer, goes directly to your downline's page as well as to their email address - so you do not need to send it separately. This way it will go to both places and will be more effective than writing to them from your address - as that will only go to their email address.
However, if you are wanting to send them a message - say in stream or messenger and you really want that they should see it - it would be better to send it to their email address from your email address, in the hope that they will open it. :)
