Should I or shouldn’t I try to recruit people to become SFI affiliates when they are not English speakers/readers?
Yes you should! Why wouldn’t you?
We live in a Global Village. SFI with its TripleClicks Superstore recognizes this and caters for it. It’s one of the things I love about SFI!
As affiliates of SFI we have the opportunity for our own businesses to reach into every country of the world (all those with internet capability). We have the opportunity to enrich our lives AND theirs!
Yes, we are marketers, selling products and services to everyone who wishes to buy them. But the SFI opportunity is more than that. It has a social and moral/ethical side.
We market only morally and ethically acceptable products – no alcohol or drugs for instance. And we do this in a morally, ethically and fair way. Each product and each ECA has to be approved and meet certain standards. Those who try to circumvent these standards are sanctioned and their rights terminated.
SFI is an opportunity for us to reach out globally and make everyone our customer, seller, team member, neighbour and friend. It is an opportunity that offers ANYONE hope and a chance for a better life. SFI does this with FREE training, marketplace websites, administration assistance and support.
SFI places no limitations on any one – why should I? Or you?
I just love it that I have people from over 40 countries in my team. In fact my dream is to have an active team in every country in the world, headed in each country by an awesome team leader.
And I’d love to develop closer relationships with each of my team members. What a great opportunity SFI offers us, not only to do business anywhere in the world, but to get to know people from different cultures – to share, learn from, and appreciate each other.
I’m not a linguist but as these friendships develop over time it would be great to be able to converse, even if only a little bit, in each other’s native language. So from my point of view it would be a mark of respect from me to my good team members for me to learn to speak and write in their language.
After all, SFI is forever! We are talking about developing relationships that will last for the rest of our lives. Think of the possibilities?
English is the language of business. That is why so many people from other countries learn English. We can be catalysts in this with our team members. And there are translation tools out there to help us do this.
I hope you can tell that I am pretty excited about this!
In fact it annoys me that some of the ECAs in SFI charge a premium to supply affiliates only from English speaking countries and provide a discount for those from non-English speaking countries. That’s discriminatory.
I have lived in Papua New Guinea for over 30 years, my wife is Papua New Guinean, and I can assure you that language is not a barrier to anything.
So don’t place false limits on yourself or your SFI businenss.
