Hi Evelyn, your question has two elements that should be addressed to give meaningful reply.
One is being SHY and the other is NOT INTERNET SAVVY.
A. Being shy requires you build up your self-confidence:
1. Don't approach people aimlessly. Have a purpose for the meeting.
2. Set priority of what to discuss in the meeting.
3. Remove anxiety, just do it; put on boldness and get out there for the meeting.
4. Smile and be friendly; a friendly smile tells the other person you have no threatening intention.
5. Eye to eye contact is essential, look at that person directly in the eyes.
5. Greet and seek first to listen; it will help you to achieve a safe starting point for your conversation.
6. Focus on the other person, asking interesting things about them gives you a good image before them.
7. Since you are meeting for business purpose, have some business cards with you - give the business card and wait for response.
8. Get help from your friends that have good confidence in meeting people.
9. Like any skill, building your self-confidence takes practice. Keep doing it you will get better at it.
10. Participate in public speaking programs so as to continue to boost your morale.
B. Engage in continuous communication with your team members, when they succeed you succeed:
To communicate effectively with your team, the following points are relevant:
1. See your team members as colleagues and not your sub-ordinate, therefore don't be too pushy on what you want them to do.
2. Carefully select your words to be in form of advice rather than criticizing.
3. Use inclusive words like "we", "our", "all of us" etc. in your email.
4. Appreciate your affiliates' contribution before mentioning what he or she should improve upon (if any).
5. Always share your past experiences in related or similar situation and how you survived it.
6. If using email; let your mail content be formal instead of informal.
7. Lead by example, ensure you have done what you want your PSAs and/or CSAs to do.
8. Hash words should NEVER proceed from your mouth to your team members at any time.
9. Let them know you are willing to help them achieve success as your team members.
10 .Ensure your leadership page and blog are up-to-date;direct them to your blog and Leadership page in every correspondence.
C. Let me say here that what you don't know you have to learn. But you can still succeed without being an internet expert is SFI.
You can put your money to work, and it will deliver the gains to you:
1. Participate in pricebender auction.
2. Sponsor new PSAs from time-to-time through S-Builder coop, PSAs-to-Go etc
3. Get a standing order of minimum 1500 VP every month.
