This allows you to get to know them a bit better. You will learn a bit about their background and what kind of experience, if any, they are bringing to the table. You will learn why they joined SFI. And perhaps most important, you will learn what goals they have set for themselves.
Knowing these things allows you to be able to custom-tailor the training, coaching and guidance you provide to them to help them achieve those goals and fulfil their primary reason for joining.
