It's a very lovely idea, but in time, your team will grow enough that you will become overwhelmed with details.
Whenever you set up welcome letters, etc., try to make it sound personal without actually using their name. Talk in your communiques as though the person was sitting across from you. Suggest beginning things for them to do that will help them overcome their initial "shyness" with the website. Remember that SFI will also be sending mail to them, you don't want to fill their email unnecessarily.
Always, let them know you are available (email, chat, whatever works best for you) to help them with any questions they may have.
Use e-cards, too, that is a good way to send a quick tip, or encouragement!
