I think we should advise our new PSAs to slow down and pace themselves. But we must do it carefully and tell them the "why" of that.
It is rare that we should ever want to stifle a new PSA's momentum and excitement as that could cause them to slow too much and never resume an active pace.
On the other hand, I became STL in the first few weeks of membership and then I had a hard time maintaining BTL for a while after that. In the second month we get paid for our first month and it is a let down. So many new affiliates stop working.
Instead, if we tell them how to do the red tabs, and to pace their To Do List so that they can maintain EA2 for several months, that will be encouraging that they will be able to reach their goal each month.
Throw in the fact that whatever they buy at TripleClicks will also help to stretch those To Do List VP will help them to even reach BTL at an earlier time. And to see an increase in their commissions.
Putting aside the question of being a Team Leader without having a team, there is an advantage to becoming a BTL early on. You get a good share of second home CSAs, the $10 first time reward for BTL and that badge. They are ready to show their prospects that they have the knowledge and talent to do this business. New PSAs do not want to be lead into a business by someone equally new as they are. They want experience.
I have seen lots of new STLs who, like me, sped through the To Do List and became STL in their first month of active membership. They got their name, if not their face, because they hadn't gotten their Profile pic done yet, on the New STL LeaderBoard and no one really notices it. And once you are there, you won't be put on when you really have earned the status because you have an active team to lead.
My important time wasn't that first time, early on, but when I really had worked for it and the points just added up to it.
