I have rated many answers to this question, and I felt I should add to the pull of answers this question has got.
In my opinion, before we think of asking though we call it motivation, any of our downline to spend money monthly to maintain EA status, and not being sounding greedy, is when we see that our downline have gotten at least one strong active downline themselves.
In that case, we encourage them to maintain EA status in order to earn the benefits that accrue to the Rank. On the other hand, we could also motivate them by assisting them with either Gift Certificate or gift cards to enable them to maintain the EA status as we in turn get our matching Points from it.
In this way, we can say that we are motivating our downline without being /sounding greedy.
This is my opinion.
