Not a fan of social media, I will never know what are the best methods for recruiting new affiliates via Facebook especially.
I find Twitter more acceptable due to word limitations and not for personal events like in Facebook, where members are mostly there for socialising and keeping in touch with relatives and friends.
Using LinkedIn and Pinterest will produce better result as you can find groups of people with similar or different interests, and from which you can tailor your ads to meet the needs of a particular group.
One of the best methods would be to join or link with people of similar interests, gain their friendship and trust, then slowly introduce your business.
Leaving a nice comment on someone's post in a public forum, with your url may also get you a new recruit, but it's all a shot in the dark.
Others have been very successful in recruiting through the social media, so why not give it a go.
