The light needs to be turned on before they'll understand that their is more to SFI than the daily to do list. It also takes repeating your teaching upwards of 50+ times before people catch on or understand. That's normal. It's up to us as teachers to use that to our benefit!
Motivating them to use it can be done in various ways. I have a FB Support Group for my SFI Team. I also have various instant message apps on my computer and I like to be as available as much as possible for my team using them. Just keep talking and every once in awhile tell them what's going on in your life and how you're handling it. Be human, imperfect, and normal. Talk to them like you're on the same level as they are. Make them feel good about themselves.
