It's not difficult when you look at the industry and compare SFI to what happens elsewhere.
With other companies more of the details are listed on the outside of the site. There are often newsletters and free reports you can sign up for to get more information before joining etc.. SFI however you have to actually join the program to get access to the same types of information so we actually convert more total sign ups than you do with other programs because they join as a lead and are considered a referral at a point they wouldn't be in another program.
Because they are here looking for more information they will often read the first few e-mails, and maybe log in and read a few pages and then decide if they wish to go forward with SFI. In other programs where they are only counted as a lead instead of a referral these people who are checking things out and gathering information would not be visible to you.
Our perception is a lot of inactive accounts compared to other programs we have been in but in reality I have a couple hundred referrals in the same time frame it would take to get a 3rd of that in most other systems.
Because of SFI's design I get added opportunity to expose my leads to the business with stories of my own achievements and solid information about the company they joined. I am not dependent on a canned automated response to convert these prospects into working PSA, so it's now in my court to get them interested, and fired up to grow their business.
SFI has too much history, too much success, and too much training for us to not convert a great number of these prospects into workers, we just have to learn to ignore the thought of the people on our mailing list and focus on the ones who are listening, who are showing signs of life.
