Good communication is a key for success!

My opinion is that the most effective way to communicate with your team, is that you can start with weekly mails.
Daily mails could be contrary-productive.

But, if there are some affiliates which are showing more interest for achieving the success, then you should communicate with them every time when they need your assistance, help and advice.
For such purpose, you can offer various types of communications: mails, chat, skype, etc.
Let to the affiliate to choose what he desire from these options.
