Before going on vacation check that you have put your VP Streak Vacation Mode onto On. This maintains you VP Streak if a you fail to login a day or so and you will not have to start from scratch again. I notice that a lot of members don't seem to be doing this.
Remember you can still answer emails etc even with the vacation mode on.
Inform your team of what you are doing and for how long. If you are going to have limited access to the internet, tell them that as well. Ask them to be patient and to leave messages for you. If you know when during your vocation you are going to have internet access for a lengthy period of time, I suggest you tell your people that you will reply to their messages then. Make only promises you know you can keep. You can of course login every now and then when you can and attend to any urgent matters.
Make sure that you have a Standing Order of at least 1500 VP in place before going on vacation. This ensures that whatever happens you will at least be an EA - not loosing all those CSAs.
When you come back from vacation, inform your team, attend to any outstanding matters and put you VP Streak Vacation Mode to Off.
