Being a business owner means you have to be ready to do the heavy lifting, face challenges, and deal with stress. By coddling your PSA you are not helping them get prepared for owning their own business.
Sure some will leave and say you scared them off but let's face it, out of every 100 PSA 97-99 of them will leave anyhow.
The ones who can't handle the truth, or the challenge ahead, or get overwhelmed too easy fit into the 97% of people who have a hard time achieving any type of success. There is a reason the top 3% of all business owners control so much of the wealth generated and that is because the other 97% have set limitations restricting the amount of challenge, hardship, stress, and time they will afford to the quest.
We can only delay weak prospects from quitting for so long, and it will take massive amounts of our time and energy to hold their hands.
Work with the workers is about selecting those who show aptitude and determination and focusing all our energy on them instead of trying to raise the whole world up and teach them to be something that is not yet in their nature. You can try to motivate and train them but history says the 97% will still be the 97% at the end of the day, and that wont change until they decide to change themselves.
Good thing you only need to find 5 who wont quit because it's hard, it takes too long, or they are overwhelmed. You get those 5 by focusing on finding quality recruits who are ready workers and willing to learn no matter how hard it is.
Don't try to teach the sheep to be wolves, the wolves will find your flock in time.
