It would be very rude of you not to acknowledge your affiliates activity-do not think of the months he/she was inactive but look at how you can impact his/her progress.
Of course you will write back and here are a few tips I can provide - they might be of use to others too. I would add here that there probably is a reason behind the inactivity and use tact not to probe or pry but be considerate towards the affiliate's reason(s) for staying out of touch.
- "I am delighted to have you back on my team and ready to work";
- "I am here to help you" - when would you like to chat?
- "I trust all is well with you and your family"?
- "Do you require any help in any area"
- "This is my telephone contact and/or skype address"
- "What is the best time for you to talk"?
- "Are you able to meet me for coffee this week" - if the affiliate is in your town
I would progress with care not to overwhelm the affiliate with a lot of detail, keeping in mind that you are not fully aware of the circumstances which lead the affiliate to stay away from SFI.
It is always important to build a relationship with your affiliates and asking after their family is the first step forward. You can then move into other areas of discussion.
I usually use the E Card for such cases because I find it is like a Birthday Card and should not contain too much detail except give a message - the ready to use E Cards already have a set up so you can choose the appropriate card quite easily.
