I have a basic rule that I started to adopt when working with TripleClicks.
Give choices to people and give them what they want and the need to have the product will arise automatically!
To this extent there are some rules I apply.
1..it is a lot more difficult to try to convince someone to buy a product they do not want at that time. It's pointless trying to sell a watch to a customer when they would like a pair of leggings for their daughter! So I promote the legging and make a sale.
2.. When I take TripleClicks to a customer and advertise my online store, I get asked, "what do you have" and I ask, "what would you like" and this will quickly give you an idea of what product to promote to the customer.
3.. Another point to keep in mind while advertising products is that ensure that you promote the option of " free shipping worldwide" - this will give you a psychological advantage over the pricing and gives the impression that there is little or no shipment charge which makes the overall price of the product seem less than if shipment was included. Ideally this may not be the case but it will attract customers to those products.
4.. You can also carry out research over the type of products that are likely to be sold in your market/country at a higher demand because they may not be available - this will give you a better idea on what to advertise.
