This question cannot be answered simply by saying either auto-bidder or no auto-bidder and that is because both these can be used effectively to win auctions.
The auto-bidder can be great if you do not have the time to spend clicking bids and you have a large amount of TCredits. If you do decide to use the auto-bidder, I would recommend that you have a look at the auction in progress, determine how many bidders are on auto-bidder and then decide if you will do the same. Bidding against other auto-bidders can be expensive. Determine also if this is the right time to go on auto-bidding.
If you see a mini price war going on with the bidding, stay out of it and let them fight it out and then if you can come in and HAMMER the winner with your auto-bidder. Hopefully the other bidder is weakened and you win the auction.
Can you wait until the price is near what you think will be the final auction price and then activate your auto-bidder?
You see it's all to do with strategy and its all up to you!
Bidding without an auto-bidder can be very laborious and time consuming. I often see people who have spent long periods on these auctions actually pay more for the items than they would otherwise have. They have invested so much time and TC on the auction and then become stubborn and refuse to be beaten.
If you can use a combination of auto-bidding and non auto-bidding at the auctions. That is my suggestion. One method is not better than the other.
