Wow - this is a great question. I hope the 'newbies' that are reading this question and all the answers that are given will pay attention. After all, hindsight is 20/20!
This is something that I actually think about quite often. I joined SFI several years ago and then went on my hunt for the 'next shiny object' instead of buckling down, learning SFI and working it like a business.
I was so hung up on all of the silly promises out there - that if you just buy this program you will make your money back in 1 hour or less. Or, even better, you will be a millionaire within the next 2 weeks!
These con artists would always show you the "proof" with fake checking account with a gazillion dollars in it or win you over with their story of 'rags to riches" - sometimes it would even be from a real-life ex-stripper!
I would get conned in to these rip-offs, then get disgusted with it all and come back to SFI - enough to keep from getting kicked out but not enough to get anywhere.
When I finally figured out that there is no top-secret millionaire making push button software that would make me rich, I came back to SFI for good.
What I wish I had done differently? Not wasted all of the money and time chasing the next shiny object! If I had invested that time and that money in SFI instead of a bunch of broken promises, I probably would be much more successful by now!
I look back on those wasted years and wasted money as a very expensive education. And since there is no such thing as wasted education, I'm glad I learned the lesson.
I just hope that this will resonate with someone who will stop wasting their time and money and get ahead with a real business like SFI!
