Yes that is why SFI provides you with free websites so that you can have a tool for marketing until you can afford to purchase a prestige domain or your own website. Personally I prefer to have my own website or blog because the free websites that SFI provides has the same appearance for every affiliate and the only thing that differentiates this is the affiliate ID number.
When I surf the Traffic exchange sites or advertise on Facebook honestly I see too many members using the free websites that SFI provides and this just makes me sick of looking at them so probably your prospects may feel the same when they surf.
On the other hand having your own website/blog sets you apart from most other affiliates and probably that would grab more attention because of the fact that you stick out.
I believe a website is more powerful than a flyer or a business card because these things contain more information and besides, flyers can be thrown away, or simply get lost but a website can be bookmarked and viewed at a later time.
