Some days we are very busy..and sending individual welcome letter taking more time that group mail. But I think individual letter, calling your new team member with her/his name is more personal. I'm sure people can feel our words. They loged in for the first time, don't know where to go, how to start and at least what we can do is to say a warm personal Hi.
