There are a lot of programs out there that promise riches, for only a couple of hundred dollars of investment. I have tried many of them, and have yet to make back my investment.
SFI costs nothing to get started. If you are serious about building a business, you can do so for well under $100 a month, or even less if all you want is Executive Affiliate status each month.
Point both of these facts out to those people, and let them know that you will be there for them when they are ready to settle down and do some work. This the only approach that has upside for you and a potential upside for them. The upside for you is that you are not wasting time targeted at them and they still get your genealogy mailings. When they are ready for a REAL business, they will be back, poorer but wiser.
If they come back, you win and they win. If not, you have not wasted a bunch of time trying to convince them.
