It is really simple to use Hit Tracking and it's very efficient. Read https://www.sfimg.com/PowerTools/KeyCodeTracking to see how to put your key code into your gateways. For each site you put your advertisement on, choose different key code, then write them all down to remember them. On this page https://www.sfimg.com/PowerTools/HitTracking you can then follow which site gets most hits. If a site doesn't bring you any hits after some time, you should skip it and focus your advertising on those sites that do bring many hits.
Remember that Hit Tracking resets each Sunday, so check hits to your gateways before that.
