Your sponsor should be your mentor. Sadly, many of us SFI members know what it is like to have a nonresponsive sponsor, so the equivalent of no mentor. Then we do as you are asking, find our own mentor.
The first place to look is your Upline. Respond to team mails/weekly mailings you receive from any of your Upline. Tell them you are looking for a mentor and would they be willing to help you. Judge on their response (if they respond) and go from there.
This is how I found a mentor of sorts for myself. I have never heard from my sponsor in the year (in Feb) I have been with SFI. I noticed I received weekly mailings from one of my Upline, so I emailed her back and asked for help. She suggested I try contacting my sponsor. I explained what was happening. I have continued to receive her mailings and find a wealth of guiding information in her mailings; however, she has also extended her help to me after I explained my situation.
Other areas you could find a mentor is the a2a Friends, the Forums and AskSC. Read post by members, then approach the ones you think you would like to have as a mentor by email. See what happens.
