If they can't figure out that Free is a great commodity then they aren't paying attention.
They need to realized that even at 5 T-credits a month and 50 MRP these gifts can give them immediate benefits in terms of VP from bids on auction items or long term they can allow them to buy things they need with very little if any out of pocket cost. They need to see that not taking that $2 and getting the membership they are leaving cash on the table even if they aren't interested in winning that $250 TripleClicks gives away each week.
Then of course is the $250 a week they could win by referring others that is simply not available unless they themselves have paid that shipping fee and got their free promotion kit. It's like getting a free lottery ticket with each free member they send to the store. Again it's money left on the table for someone else to grab if they don't reach out and take it.
The nice thing is when they finally get it they will have broke the ice and taken that chance and made their first purchase at TripleClicks.
