I suggest that you use the Farming concept when communicating with them.
Even people that live in cities know that a farmer in order to reap a good harvest needs to till the soil, prepare the ground and then sow his seeds or plant seedlings. When the seedlings grow or seeds sprout he then needs to water them and nurture the young plants. If all this is done well the plants will grow well and his harvest will be plentiful. The more plants or seeds he puts in the ground the bigger the harvest will be.
SFI is like this. In simplistic terms - Do the ground work & learn the business - advertise for affiliates - nurture your affiliates and you will be successful.
Your affiliates are your plants. If you don't have plants, you will not have a harvest and if you have only a few plants your harvest may not be that plentiful.
So how do you obtain the plants (affiliates)? By advertising. This can be done free or you can pay for it. Advertising is not an expense, its an investment. You invest time in free advertising - you invest money in paid advertising.
In my opinion, eventhough you can obtain affiliates through free advertising, it is slow and is labouriously time consuming. Paid and targeted advertising on the other hand is much more reliable and efficient.
It is therefore a smart move on any SFI affiliate to invest some money in paid advertising if they are able to. It doesn't have to be a huge amount of money. The paid advertising campaign can be done at the same time as the free advertising.
Have fun with that idea and good luck.
