I believe it is the sponsor’s responsibility to keep a good relation with their downline when possible, as not all affiliates will be active and responsive to messages.
Besides the initial welcome message and the weekly team mail, in which assistance must always be offered, the sponsor should monitor the affiliate’s progress and give their advice beforehand guiding them to success. It is understood that no question asked by the affiliate should be left unanswered and all efforts should be made to assist in solving their problems.
Also, being supportive and offering rewards when they meet a milestone, like become an EA or Team Leader, is a good way to keep a good relation with the affiliates and have them engaged and conversing regularly with you.
