I have heard many affiliates answer this question, and the simple fact is you cannot stop any of your downline from quitting. All you can do is offer your services as their upline, and try to explain the best way to proceed with SFI.
I do still feel that the initial training could be more simplified with perhaps some video tutorials in the "Launchpad" training. Its important to keep the attention of new affiliates and focus their efforts, as many will not see the value of this system untill they have made a concerted effort to learn. Also, a stronger emphasis on the fact that REAL money can be earned from VP's, and that your commissions will be paid at the end of the month once you have earned more than 20$.
There are plenty of affiliate programs that deal with virtual money, and very few of them pay what they say in commissions, so it is important that SFI emphasises that the affiliate will get their commissions as long as they maintain their EA status ect.
