In your question you have said you wanted an autoresponder which is a good start but how you use the autoresponder is the question, SFI uses an autoresponder, every time someone clicks onto your gateway links out come a response.
I have two auto-responders working for me and collecting signups 24/7, I do use the corporate/gateway pages in other ways, but so is everyone else.
Put your own personality into making your own splash/squeeze pages incorporating SFI and TripleClicks, when the prospect signs up to Your List he/she is directed to SFI/TripleClicks sign up pages, if they do not sign up for SFI/TripleClicks you can send them information about anything as long as it is inline with your original intentions.
I would start compiling a squeeze page advertising yourself and your business.
Place on your squeeze page your intentions to send them important news and that they are signing up to receive your news letter once they sign up and confirm this (double optin)you automatically send them to SFI/TripleClicks, if they do not sign up you have the opportunity to follow up and possibly retain that prospect.
